Thanks for the encouraging post (and thanks for submitting it to the Christian Carnival!) I, too, am often reluctant to share my dull, "saved since preschool" testimony.

Once, though, a woman told me it had been a real encouragement to her because she had not been a believer as a child and was glad to hear that Christian parents could raise children who would stay in the faith.

God can use all kinds of testimonies to encourage and speak to others.

Yup, been there! Especially during deputation when both of us had to share our testimonies frequently. Mine is rather simple; Brian's is much more "exciting", full of drug use and rebellion, etc etc. But, then I realized what you did - it's just as amazing that God saved me "from", not just God saving me "out of." It's made me look at the grace of God in a new light - that He would choose me to NOT go through those things. No matter what your life is/was, God's grace is still bigger than we can imagine. Great post!

This is a beautiful sharing of your salvation story. I was saved at a young age, too.

I think too often salvation stories tend to become "about us" instead of, as you said, about HIM!
